The rules

Who runs this

My Bit of Oz is run by [Your business name], ABN [ABN], of [suburb, state] ("we", "us").

What you're buying

  1. A square costs $10 AUD (including GST if applicable). Plots of 2×2, 3×3 and 5×5 squares cost $10 per square.
  2. You get your name, a message of up to 120 characters and an optional link shown on that square of the map at mybitofoz.com.au for as long as the site runs.
  3. You don't get any ownership, lease or other right in real land. It's a spot on our map, not a land title.
  4. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your square appears once payment clears.

Messages

  1. No swearing, hate, harassment, threats, sexual content, illegal content, spam, someone else's personal details, or anything that infringes someone's rights.
  2. We can hide or edit a message that breaks these rules without a refund. We'll try to contact you first.
  3. You can ask us to change your message by emailing [contact email] with your square reference.

Refunds

Because your square goes up straight away, we don't offer change-of-mind refunds. If something went wrong with your purchase, email [contact email] within 14 days and we'll fix it or refund you. This doesn't limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

The Best Square Award

  1. Every paid square or plot with a message is automatically entered. There's no extra cost to enter.
  2. The award is a game of skill. The winner is not drawn at random.
  3. Judging happens once every square on the map is sold, or on [closing date], whichever comes first.
  4. Messages are judged by [judge or judging panel] on creativity, humour and heart. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  5. Prize: [describe the prize and its value]. One prize per entrant. The prize can't be exchanged or transferred.
  6. Entrants must be 18 or older and live in Australia. Our staff and their immediate families can't win.
  7. We'll contact the winner by the email used at checkout within [7] days of judging and announce the winning square on the site. If we can't reach the winner within [28] days, we'll judge again from the remaining entries.
  8. If the map doesn't sell out by [closing date], [describe what happens, e.g. the award is still judged with the prize as stated].

Privacy

We collect your name, message and link (shown publicly) and your email from Stripe (kept private). We use your email to contact you about your square and the award, and nothing else unless you opt in. Card details go to Stripe; we never see them. Ask us at [contact email] to see or delete your info.

Changes

We may update these rules, but changes won't take away anything you've already paid for or reduce the prize.
